The William Raveis Southport office committee that worked together to create and implement our first Music 4 A Cure event at the Warehouse at Fairfield Theater Company could not have been more pleased at the huge turnout and fabulous good time everyone had! We were thrilled at the outpouring of support from sponsors, donations, raffle prize contributions and participants at the event.

The donations are still rolling in, but at the time of this post, the event raised more than $35,000 for the William Raveis Charitable fund supporting Damon Runyon and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in the innovative research for a cure for cancer! We are so proud of the wonderful contribution we were all able to make for this important cause.

If you’re looking for a great evening in Westport, Connecticut, why not have dinner at the new Spanish eatery, DeTapas Spanish Gastrobar followed by a top notch show at the Westport Country Playhouse?

We had a great evening starting at DeTapas for dinner. DeTapas is four-months young at the time of this post, having opened in January 2022. The modern decor is bright, colorful, open, and airy, with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass facing the street. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun. There’s something for everyone on the menu with salads, tapas, and paellas, plus plenty of tempting options from the bar! Located in the heart of downtown Westport, DeTapas conveniently has a large parking lot in the back and takes reservations, unlike many other area restaurants. Before heading to the 8 pm show, we paused for a selfie with the restaurant owner, Carlos Pia.

“The Playhouse is a non-profit that produces theater from playwrights, actors, directors, and designers of all backgrounds, while entertaining audiences and exploring human and societal issues along the way.” Also, in the heart of downtown Westport, this theater offers high quality productions with extremely talented performers, many from Broadway. The show we saw was a musical drama with a story about mental illness. The singing and acting were phenomenal!
